Answer: We teach two curricula, one leading to Nigerian local and national external (JSCE/BECE/WAEC) accreditation and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
What is the ratio of teachers to students?
Answer: 1 teacher to 7 students.
How many students in a classroom?
Answer: Not more than 25 students in a class.
How much is the school fees?
Answer: Please call the school office directly to get accurate and up to date school fees rate.
How many in each dormitory?
Answer: Each room in the dormitory is allocated to four persons. All are well ventilated and fully air-conditioned with toilet and bathroom attached to each room.
Are the classroom air-conditioned?
Answer: Yes, all classroom buildings are fully air-conditioned.
How is good discipline ensured?
Answer: Through clear expectations communicated to students, rewarding good behavior and imposing clear sanctions on those who infract the rules. Fundamentally, Seed of Grace International College is a very disciplined community.
Is corporal punishment used?
Answer: Corporal punishment is not used in Seed of Grace. Students who deserve punishment receive a sanction relative to their offence, e.g. they forfeit their own free time and work in the kitchen or clean the environment. More serious infractions attract either external and /or internal suspension or in extreme cases, expulsion.
How do the students worship on Sundays and other days?
Answer: On Sundays, all students worship at the church international headquarters, while they observe other week services within the school premises.
Do the students do their own laundry?
Answer: The school has a laundry facility that services a student’s uniform and house-wear. However, students are responsible for washing their own under- garments.
Are your Application Forms available online?
Answer: Yes, you can download SGIC application form online and submit in person to the school or via electronic mail.
Do the students have Prep’?
Answer: Yes, every evening after dinner and supervised by teachers. This is an important contribution to achieving high standards of attainment and diligence by students.
How good is catering and what food and quantities are provided?
Answer: Very good (our students say so as well)! Students eat a very well balanced diet largely Nigerian cuisine, but some international dishes also. Portions are very generous and ‘going hungry’ isn’t a complaint we hear!
How do you handle bullying?
Answer: SGIC has an anti-bullying policy and operates a zero tolerance to bullying of any description. Students involved in such activity WILL be suspended and repetition could and almost certainly would result in a student being asked to leave the school.
Can entrance exam be conducted outside Nigeria?
Answer: Currently, No, but provision will be made for that as time goes on
